Arrma Senton Full Detailed Review. Is It Worth It?

The Arrma Senton is one of the most affordable Arrma RC cars that you can have these days. But, Is it worth buying or you’ll waste your money?

Despite being an affordable RC car, the Arrma Senton still has a lot of competitors not only from the other competitors but also from the Arrma RC cars like the Granite and the Typhon!

This is good for the brand itself, but, for you the buyer, it’s a little bit confusing since you don’t know which one to buy and which one you should spend your money on.

This is why, in this article, I will show you more about the Arrma Senton and if it is worth buying over the other RC cars or not.

Arrma Senton Design

Arrma Senton Body

Are you familiar with Traxxas RC cars? Well, if you are, the Traxxas Slash which is one of the most popular RC cars looks exactly like the Arrma Senton.

This is just to give a big and brief picture of what the Arrma Senton looks like.

The Arrma Sentonbody is a pickup truck made for bashing, it’s built from plastic that looks simple and somewhat reliable.

Even if you crash it, you don’t have to worry, because the body of this RC car is so cheap and can be replaced easily.

A cool thing about this RC car is the graphics as well as the design of the headlights that give it that aggressive look.

The Arrma Senton comes with 4 clips, 2 in the front and two other in the back. They’re easy to take off to remove the body and access the chassis.

However, on the ground at the bashing time, they won’t come out!

There is no skids or internal cage either to protect the body. But, as mentioned before, don’t worry, that plastic can take a lot of hits with no cracks. That’s because it is so lightweight and so flexible!

These two features make it able to absorb any crash in the way.

Arrma Senton Colors

When it comes to colors, the Arrma Senton body comes in two colors which are blue and red.

These colors come for the brushed as well as the brushless version.

You can get other colors in the aftermarket bodies like Orange and yellow, you can even have a clear body and customize it yourself.

Overall, the Arrma Senton body is doing a good job and can handle pretty well anything this RC car passes through. It is also cheap which is convenient for an RC car at such an affordable price.

Arrma Senton Chassis

As you know, the Arrma Senton is an affordable cheap RC car that can be your best friend as a beginner or as a child. So, I don’t expect you to be surprised by the fact that the Arrma Senton chassis is 99% built-in plastic.

The great thing about this plastic is its high handling and reliability. It’s really hard to break that chassis until you’re willing to!

This RC car comes with big bumpers in the front and rear, they’re plastic.

Concerning the rear bumper, it is bigger than the front one and comes with a wheelie bar underneath it.

The great feature of these Arrma Senton bumpers is the fact that they have space between them and the rest of the chassis components.

With that, the internal parts will have less to no damage in case of a crash.

But here is the bigger surprise, there are bumpers even on the sides. Those can work also as handles which are so useful.

On the other hand, the shock towers are high, they’re also plastic and can’t be adjusted either.

Right after the shocks and shock towers, there is s big bumper in the front of the internal parts. This plastic big bumper is another protector for those parts from the dirt and the mud.

Regarding the internal parts, they’re easy to remove and put back. If you want to work on a part like the motor or the ESC, you don’t need to struggle to get your hands there.

All you need is to take off that part. Most parts can be taken off by just one super easy screw.

This is perfect also for upgrading or replacing parts including the battery.

Concerning the suspension system, I see that these Arrma Senton suspension arms are the most plastic reliable arms.

And by the way, plastic parts sometimes are more effective than aluminum or metal parts.

And the reason is the plastic parts are so flexible, which means, in the moment of the crash, the plastic bumper bend against the subject that the car crashed into and comes back to its shape again as long as it can absorb the power of that crash.

On the other hand, metal and aluminum parts aren’t flexible, they have a weaker ability to absorb the shocks of the crash, and they will end up either cracked or bent until you replace them or fix them using power again.

This is why plastic parts and plastic-built RC cars like the Arrma Senton can be a great fit for beginners and children that have more chances to crash them. Second, the aftermarket parts can be found and bought cheaply.

Arrma Senton Performance

Before getting into technical details, the Arrma Senton comes in 2 versions. There is the Mega version which comes with a brushed motor and the Arrma Senton 3s version which comes with a brushless motor.

When it comes to the brushed version or Arrma Senton Mega, it can reach up to 30 mph (48 Km/h). It does come with a MEGA 12T brushed 550 motor and a waterproof ESC compatible with 2S Lipo.

On the other hand, the second version is the Arrma Senton 3s which comes with a Spektrum™ Firma™ 3200Kv brushless motor and a waterproof BLX100 ESC compatible with 3s Lipo batteries.

With this combination, the BLX100 ESC can reach up to 50mph which 80Km/h. That’s insane.

Whether you buy the Arrma Senton 3s or MEGA, you’ll have the same reliability and handling. What’s different is the performance and the speed.

With this high speed, lightweight and chassis reliability, the Arrma Senton can give you a lot of fun by having high jumps, and you know what? You don’t have to worry about the landing.

Why? Because it can handle its weight. This is why plastic parts have the best role!

Even if you crash it with a tree, there is a small probability that something will break. But, you’re most likely to continue bashing even after that crash.

After all, this is a Ready-To-Run RC car, which means, you need nothing to do after taking it out of the box except for putting in the batteries and you’re ready to go.

Whether you’re bashing off-road in the forest or the desert, or racing in the street, you’ll have no problem with this RC car.

There is one thing that I’ve noticed is the fact that the Arrma Senton can’t handle going at the top speed for so long. It loses balance and starts flipping over all the way.

In my opinion, this is because of two things, the first thing is the lightweight that this Arrma Senton has that it can’t handle that speed.

The second thing about losing balance is because of a system that is lacking.

Arrma Senton Systems

As mentioned earlier, the Arrma Senton sometimes loses balance when going at top speed.

Part of that is because of the systems. And what I mean by systems is the Active Vehicle Control (AVC).

Unfortunately, this system isn’t available in this RC car which makes it hard to control when going at high speeds.

When it comes to remote control, the Arrma Senton has the Spektrum™ SLT3™ transmitter and SLR300 receiver.

It’s a great fit for beginners (to learn) and kids that don’t care really about the quality and all they want to do is play and have fun. However, if you’re an intermediate or an expert, you won’t like it for sure.

You can always change it to something better.

Also, it does come with a beginner’s mode where you can limit the acceleration to 75% or 50%, we can call it the learning mode, after you get used to it, unleash the whole power.

Other than that, the Arrma Senton doesn’t come with any system. Still, it’s a lot of fun driving this RC car and bashing with it. You’ll appreciate that moment so much.

Arrma Senton Upgrades

The simpleness of the upgrades is the best thing not about the Arrma Senton only, but all Arma RC cars.

As we mentioned before, taking off and replacing the parts is so easy and doesn’t require a big effort.

The same thing goes for upgrading. That’s because you can find any part you want at a cheap price.

They’re available anywhere.

You can buy anything from Aluminum suspension arms, shocks, Spur gears, Aluminum mount gears, and a lot more…

So, you’ll have no problem with having or replacing the Arrma Senton upgrades. That’s a great feature of this RC car.

Annoying Things About the Arrma Senton

When I first knew and read about the Arrma Senton, I thought that this is one of those cheap low-quality RC cars that will break just after 10 minutes of playing.

But, after that, I thought about it again and found that this is one of the best RC cars that any beginner can have.

All these plastic parts aren’t a burden on this RC car. On the opposite, these are the parts that made the Arrma Senton the beast that we see today.

However, there is one thing that I don’t like about it which is that unbalance that occurs whenever you reach the top speed.

This is not a deal breaker though. The more expert you are, the easier it gets to be controlled even at that high speed which becomes more fun since you start looking at it as a challenge more than a problem.

Another small problem that some of you may encounter is at the level of the chassis, precisely behind the front wheels in the steering area.

In that area, the hole where the steering bar comes out, you may find a problem with small rocks that enter from that hole and gather there which stops the steering gear from functioning.

That happens rarely, so you don’t need about it. Even if it happens, all you need is just to empty it and you’re good to go.

Other than that, this RC car is great.

Great Things About the Arrma Senton

There are a lot of great things about the Arrma Senton, I will tell you the best ones.

The plastic set of the chassis and the internal parts makes this RC car so lightweight that it does a great job jumping so high and landing with no damage.

This is something that even big great RC cars like the Kraton and the Traxxas X-Maxx can’t do always.

The distance between the front bumper and the shocks is wide, and this is to increase the protection of the shocks as well as the rest of the internal parts.

Despite having a 4WD system, the Arrma Senton’s acceleration is so tense, but, thanks to the wheelie bar that comes with it, the Arrma Senton can keep its balance even at full throttle.

Having two options the Arrma Senton 3s and MEGA make you the buyer a better decision on which one to buy. If you have kids, the MEGA is better, otherwise, take the 3s.

Well, there are still a lot of great things about the Arrma Senton, you better discover them yourself because it will be more fun.

If we look in terms of performance, handling, reliability, and price, the answer is definitely YES!

You should buy it, especially if you’re a beginner or you have a child that this RC car will be his first one.

However, if you love fast RC cars, the Arrma Senton may not give the fun that you’re waiting for even in the 3s version.

This is why you better go for a faster RC car, you can go for the Limitless, the Kraton, the Felony, or the Infraction.

All these Arrma RC cars are super fast and will raise the level of Dopamine in your body, but they’re a little expensive.
